Why upgrade your boiler?
Older, non-condensing boilers can be incredibly inefficient. In some cases, for every £1 you spend on heating, up to 30p is wasted. A modern A-rated boiler operates at over 90% efficiency, meaning more of your money goes towards actually heating your home.
The government recognises that upgrading heating systems is one of the most effective ways to reduce carbon emissions and tackle fuel poverty. That's why the ECO4 scheme can fund boiler replacements for eligible households.
Who may qualify?
To qualify for a boiler replacement grant, you generally need to meet the following criteria:
- You are a homeowner or private tenant (with landlord permission)
- Your current boiler is non-condensing or highly inefficient
- You receive one of the qualifying government benefits (e.g., Universal Credit, Pension Credit, Child Benefit)
