First Time Central Heating Grants
Does your home lack a central heating system? If you rely on electric room heaters, solid fuel fires, or inefficient storage heaters, you may qualify for a complete central heating system funded through the ECO4 scheme.
What does it include?
A highly efficient, A-rated boiler
New radiators installed in every room
All necessary pipework
Smart heating controls
Complete installation by certified professionals
Transform your home
Living without central heating can be incredibly difficult, especially during the cold winter months. Electric room heaters are expensive to run and often fail to heat the whole house effectively.
A First Time Central Heating (FTCH) grant completely transforms a property. It provides consistent, controllable warmth throughout the house while significantly reducing energy running costs compared to electric alternatives.
Eligibility Rules
To qualify for a First Time Central Heating grant, your property must currently have NO central heating system. This means it must not have a boiler and radiators.
Homes that typically qualify are those heated by:
- Electric room heaters or plug-in radiators
- Gas room heaters
- Electric storage heaters (in some cases)
- Solid fuel fires
If your home already has a boiler and radiators (even if they are broken), you cannot apply for FTCH, but you may qualify for a Boiler Replacement grant instead.
